Dear Queen Family: My heart aches for you this morning. It is so hard to lose a parent. Perhaps even more difficult when that parent has been the loving mother that Katie was. Not only a mother to you but a very special friend to many of us: Joe and I included. We will always cherish the wonderful memories we have of our visits both there and here in Florida. Memories of the flea market with Ed and Katie, a day spent with Katie, Katherine, and Whitney at Bok Tower when the girls were young, touring Rutherfordton and Golden Valley, visiting her birthplace.....these are happy memories that stand out in our minds.
