Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of William Hodge can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for William Bruce Hodge

William Bruce  Hodge
William Bruce Hodge, age 87, of Rutherfordton, NC passed away on September 13th 2018 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. Bruce was the son of the late Fred and Nellie Early Hodge, and was a native of Rutherford County, NC. Bruce served his country in the United States Army. Later in life he retired as an Assistant Post Master for the Rutherfordton Post Office, and was the owner of Hodge's Antiques. When he wasn't working on or selling furniture he was spending time in the mountains, often at Black Mountain Campground, or Carolina Hemlock. Survivors include his wife Lillian Moody Hodge; son Larry and wife Shelia Hodge; daughter Pam and husband Mark Crowe; grandchildren Amanda, Lindsey, and Jordan; great-grandchildren Ava, Ansley, Fisher, Lawson, and soon to be Norah Grey; sister Geraldine Randall. Services will be held on Sunday September 16th at 2:00PM at Crowe's Funeral Chapel. The family will gather one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association of Western North Carolina, 31 College Pl #103, Asheville, NC 28801.
