Rachel  Sims (Crain)
Rachel Crain Sims, 81, of Rutherfordton, went to be with her Lord Monday, August 13, 2018. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Carpenter and Eva Radford Crain. She was a retired seamstress for Tanner Companies and was a charter member of Gilkey Church of God.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 56 years, Robert K. Sims; loving daughter, Lisa Tuttle and husband Wade; grandsons, Jason Tuttle and wife Rebecca and Clint Tuttle and wife Rebecca; four great granddaughters, Madilyn, Kayla, Mackenzie and Melanie; one great grandson, Sammy Tuttle; three sisters, Doris McMahan and husband JL, Patsy Linder and husband Bill, and Dita Ree Toney; brothers, Marion, Ronnie and Charles Crain and wife Jeanette; adopted sister, Martha Odom.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister and brother in law Emily and Gene Hardin; two sisters in law, Carolyn and Nan Crain; brother in law Rev. Herman Toney; niece Sharon Hardin and adopted brother Nathan Odom.

Rachel loved to travel with her husband and see what the world looked like. She had been to all 50 states in her travels and many countries.
But most of all, she loved her church and the Lord in her life.

Memorial services will be held 4PM Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Gilkey Church of God, 255 Oak Springs Road, Rutherfordton, NC with Rev. Henry Montgomery officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
