Ruth Anderson  Shirlen (Goff)
Ruth Turner Shirlen passed into heaven on August 11, 2017. She was the daughter of the late William Melton and Ellie Beatrice Haney Geoff and was preceded in death by William L. Turner, James Shirlen and Willie Owens.
Ruth was a long time resident of Spindale, a native of Gaston County and was a member of Adaville Baptist Church.
A woman of great faith, impeccable character, sweet charm and boundless energy; and a loving steadfast mother to Michael (Judi) Turner, Elaine (William) Boone, Sheliah Owens, Bennett (Robin) Turner, Timothy (Suellen) Turner and Sarah (Stuart) Saunders.
“Mom” to grandchildren William Boone Jr. and Kristi Robinson, “Nana” to Melody M. Owens, Shane Owens and Nathan Saunders; she had the great fortune of three great grandchildren: Bradley and Victoria Boone and Libby Mitchell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 PM on Tuesday August 15, 2017 at Crowe’s Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jonathan Cobb officiating. The family will receive friends from 11-12 PM prior to the service. Burial will be private at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
Her place in our hearts will never be diminished.
Flowers are welcomed or donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
