Obituary for Margaret Jacqueline Elms
Mrs. Margaret Jacqueline Smith Elms age 83 of Willow Ridge Rehabilitation Center went home to be with The Lord on Saturday April 4, 2015 following an extended illness. Margaret was a daughter of the late James and Ethel McCue Smith. She was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church in Rutherfordton and was a former employee of Tanner Company where she worked as an inspector. She leaves behind a number of family members which include one daughter Sherry Richards and husband Wayne of Forest City, NC; one son Orland Shane Elms and wife Mindy of Acworth, GA; one grandson William Elms of Acworth, GA; one granddaughter Adalyn Elms of Acworth, GA; one sister Edna Robinson and husband Roger of Bostic, NC
In addition to her parents Margaret was preceded in death by her first husband Johnny Ware, her second husband Orland Elms, three brothers-James Smith, Jr. , Daniel Smith and Everett Smith; three sisters-Lily Taylor, Polly Crawford and Mary Jo Smith.A service celebrating the life of Mrs. Elms will be held 11 AM Tuesday April 7, 2015 at Mountain Creek Baptist Church 710 Mountain Creek Road Rutherfordton, NC 28139. Mrs. Elms will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association 31 College Place Asheville, NC 2880.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Station A at Willow Ridge Rehabilitation Center for the love and care shown Mrs. Elms during her illness.
