Merry Christmas

This week, an extremely special lady, My Aunt Carolyn Dalton was born into Eternity. My Aunt Carolyn was a person who adored the Christmas season. I remember being in the "old house" in the family dining room; boxes of Christmas decorations commanded and filled up the Victorian room. You had to wiggle, push, shimmy to navigate through the room. Looking back, it is what we now know as Extreme Christmas! She had the most impish smile, a dash of mischievousness when she knew she was right about a matter. She had those Paul Newman, blue eyes, that could penetrate your soul. She had a laugh that would bring joy to your heart and make your spirit leap. Aunt Carolyn had the divine gift and talent of creating and making this planet, earth, BEAUTIFUL. My goodness, God gave her TWO GREEN HANDS not just a green thumb! I remember asking Carolyn, "When is your birthday? It's in the summer right? Like June 25th? She said, "No ma'am. It's always been right smack in the middle of tomato season." I said, "When is that?" As if this city girl, should automatically know this information. Aunt Carolyn said, "July 25th. Every birthday I can remember, I was up to my elbows in tomatoes." Aunt Carolyn and I would drink coffee in her kitchen during the winter and sit on the rockers outside on the porch in the spring. Aunt Carolyn would leave the screen door open so she could attend to Robyn. I was always inspired by her in exhaustible, work ethic. She did the work of ten people. My Aunt Carolyn could whip up biscuits from scratch in a NY minute. Telling me it was no big deal. I would quickly respond, "May be for you. You, who can make biscuits from scratch in your sleep." Her bible was marked, highlighted, underscored and crinkled. We would share our faith. God's plans. Not ours. She was and is the Proverbs 31 Woman. Carolyn Thompson-Dalton, You ran the race. Good and faithful servant. Well done. Enjoy your inheritance. I'll bet the farm.... heaven has green fried tomatoes! To My Aunt Carolyn, how perfect is it for you...Homecoming during the Christmas season. Aunt Carolyn is spending eternity in the heavenly Christmas Mansion with Daddy, Jesus, and loved ones. Merry Christmas Carolyn. We will meet again. At the appointed time. We will be awe inspired at all of God's handiwork in His Eternal Garden! Please stop and smell the roses for us. Love always, Janet
