Estelle Lane Elliott, age 93, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Thursday, September 11, 2014 at her home. Estelle was born October 2, 1920 to the late William Evinder Lane and Hettie Hays Lane. She retired from Doncaster Tanner as a finishing seamstress. A long time member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Rutherfordton, she faithfully served as the church librarian for many years, and later as the church’s historian. Estelle enjoyed her home, growing vegetables and many projects of handwork. She was a 1939 graduate of RS Central High School.

Survivors include her daughter, Rita Elliott Price of Shelby; son, Franklin Dean Elliott of Rutherfordton; four grandchildren, Marc Byers (Terri) of Shelby, Mandi Byers Langley (Allen) of Shelby, Franklin Elliott (Robin) of Rutherfordton and Travis Elliott of Gastonia; seven great grandchildren, Brock, Grant and Zack Byers and Chloe and Gracie Langley all of Shelby, and “the twins” Will and Sean Elliott of Rutherfordton; brother George Logan Lane (Alisha) of Forest City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of only eight years, Clyde Frank Elliott. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Martha Barnwell and Martina Crain Taylor

Memorial services will be held 3PM Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Crowe’s Mortuary with Rev. Warren Elliott officiating. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. Her cremains will be placed by her beloved Frank in a private service at a later date at Bills Creek Baptist Church in Lake Lure.
