So sorry to hear of your mother’s death. I came home to Forest City to live while doing an internship at Broughton for my MA in 1975. Millicent & I carpooled back & forth, sometimes w/a man whose name I’ve forgotten, but I’ll never forget her! I especially remember her tying up her hair in a scarf on the days I put the top down on my MG. She was a fun person and I learned so much from her; I’m sorry I lost touch w/her.

Dear Lauren and Ryan,
I worked as a young, newly-graduated BSW for Millicent at Broughton Hospital. I do not believe I ever met a kinder or more compassionate lady. She was an inspirational mentor to me and I shall always be thankful that we worked together for a time. She was the true embodiment of social work.

I am truly saddened by the news of your mom's passing. She was always so sweet to all of us in the neighborhood and treated us all like family. So many memories...including the one where she took me to East High to my graduation ceremony and dropped me off, knowing I had no ride home. Bought my cap & gown too. Whoops - don't make the mistake of telling Millicent you're doing something stupid. :)

So sorry to learn of sweet Millicent's death but rejoice in a life well lived and well loved! What a wonderful lady! To know her was to love her. May she rest in peace in the presence of Our Lord! May she now be reunited with her other family members who preceded her in Heaven. Ryan and Lauren, you are in our thoughts and prayers.
