Richard Hunt Kenter, age 88, of Rutherfordton, NC passed away on December 24th 2018 at his home. Richard was the son of the late Warren and Mildred Kushmore Kenter, and step-son to the late Lola Kenter. He served in the United States Army during the occupation following WWII, and later in life retired from the Escondido, CA Police Department. In his spare time he could be found playing the piano. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Arlene Landes Kenter; son Rick Kenter and wife Christina; daughter Robin Sheriff and husband Mark; grandchildren Kris Roark, Kyle Roark and wife Courtney; In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Warren Kenter. Jack passed at the age of 19 while serving in WWII. Services are to be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.
