Mary Jo Swafford, age 76, of 153 Daffodil Lane passed away Tuesday at the home of her daughter Gilda. Mary Jo was a native of Macon County, a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Franklin, NC , attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was retired from Tanner`s.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Raleigh Swafford, sons Billy and Raleigh Swafford and parents Leonard and Tiny Gibson Greene.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Gilda (Tim) Hamrick, sisters Shirley Charles and Alberta Bowes; grandchildren J. W. Moore, Jody Swafford, Willie Swafford, Timothy Hamrick, Nikki Lane and Mary Hamrick; great grandchildren Nathaniel, Troy, Holly and Austin Swafford, Kristen and Joshua Moore, Carter Bright, April Bartley and Raleigh Goode.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM Friday November 30, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. William Swink officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM prior to the service.
