Floyd Crawford, age 93, of Rutherfordton, NC passed away at the Charles George VA Medical Center on November 6th 2018. Floyd was the son of the late Samuel and Mattie Epley Crawford, and the husband to the late Pauline Shipp Crawford. Floyd retired from the United States Army, and later volunteered for the Spindale Police department. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Teresa Woodward (Jim); daughter Paula Crawford (Terry Vinson); son David Crawford (Clara Bumgarner); daughter Deana Whiteside (Bobby); daughter Dana Brandle (Michael); daughter Shannon McCabe (Charles); 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; In addition to his parents and wife, Floyd was preceded in death by son Scott Crawford; a special aunt Adele Epley; brothers Willie, Johnnie, R.L., and Jimmy. A rosary will be held on Thursday, November 8th 2018 at 6:00PM at Crowe’s Mortuary, the family will receive friends following the rosary until 9:00PM. Services will be held on Friday November the 9th 2018 at 10:00AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 1024 W Main St, Forest City, NC 28043, with Deacon Cilone and Father Burke officiating, burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Military honors will be provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Rutherford VA Clinic 374 Charlotte Rd, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
