Obituary for Jonas Burl Conner
Jonas Burl Conner, age 90 of Union Mills, NC passed away on September 23rd 2018. Jonas was the son of the late Simon Jacob Conner and Esther Sarah Hodge Conner. In addition to his parents Jonas was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Hall Conner; sister Dorothy Young; sister Frances White; brother Jay Conner; brother Frank Conner; brother Hicks Conner; grandson Jeff Street; and son-in-law Frank Melton. Jonas was of the Baptist faith, a former member of the Union Mills Fire Department and retired from Elmore Mills. Jonas was a loving and caring family man. He is now reunited with his loving wife Dot with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.
Left to cherish his memory are his son Dean and wife Jeannie Conner; son Edward and wife Karyn Conner; daughter Pat Street and husband Claude; daughter Barbara Moore and husband Steve; daughter Judy Melton; brother Don Conner; grandchildren Eugene Conner, Greg Street (Kim), Ronnie Moore (Lori), Shawn Moore (Rhonda, Kyle Moore, Chad Melton (Melanie), Kevin Melton, Sarah Smith (Derek), Justin Conner (Stacey), Kelsey Groover (Kevin) Jonas Conner, Josie Conner, and Christopher Spicer; great grandchildren Austin Street, Briana & Taylor Moore, Tyler, Nathan, Daniel, Macie, Harmony and Hope Melton, Landon, Maddie & Autumn Melton, Holly Black, Harvey Smith, and Lennon and Wesley Conner.
Services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday September 25th 2018 at Crowe’s Mortuary the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Round Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
