Bom-Wrapper

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of S.G. Gabriel can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

childhood memories

I grew up in Lincolnton, NC and lived near the Gabriet family.  We attended Boger City United Methodist Church, and Lincolnton schools together.  My family moved away around 1950, and we all went on with our lives - but we always "sort of" knew where we all were!  Just recently (in the past year), I had a message from Shirley that he still loved us (my sisters and I, Pat, Johnny, and Peggy Reinhardt).  Just like him!!  We were almost like sisters and brothers (his brothers).  It is with grreat sadness that I have read this obituary today in the Lincolnton newspaper - my thoughts and prayers are with the entire family and his many friends who live in Rutherfordton, and all his Appalachian friends.  Shirley was a beautiful person and he indeed will be a great loss to the community and to his church.  The Gabriels were always very active church members and lived their lives devoted to Christ.

My husband, The Rev. Edward L. Moore, died in 2015 and is buried in North Wilkesboro, NC.  I look forward to that day when we will all reunite in heaven.  Thank you for allowing me to send this note.
