The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Clyde Smith can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Scott McMahan

I first met Butch at Oakland School in the fall of 1959 when he and I started in the first grade. Oakland was a small school with each grade having only one classroom. We had only nine boys in our class which led to us being very good friends. Butch was liked by everyone and Butch liked everyone. I cannot remember Butch ever mentioning that his Dad was our principle. Butch was always the best athlete in our class and also a good student. I lost track of Butch when he went with his Dad to Cool Springs in about 5th grade.
