Jean Richardson 101 of Columbus, passed away on January 6, 2018. She was a native of Hampshire, England. Jean was a shopkeeper prior to coming to the USA and worked as a draughtsman in an aircraft manufacturing during the war years. She also was the local air raid warden and ambulance driver. As a sportswoman she played tennis and hockey.
Jean loved gardening and was a member of Slidell Garden Club in Louisiana and most recently The Daffodil Garden Club in Tryon. Over the years Jean made many friendships with her fellow Garden Club members. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Raymond Richardson of the home. Jean was preceded in death by her parents Claude St. Clair Penny and Dorothy Liza Penny Mackintosh, a daughter Leslie Anne Richardson and her twin sister Marjorie Penny.
