Stanley Paul  McDaniel
Stanley "Stan" Paul McDaniel, age 70, of Spindale, NC, passed away at his home
surrounded by loved ones, on Tuesday November 21, 2017. Born March 22, 1947
in Rutherford County, NC, he was a son of the late James Paul McDaniel and Doris
Jernigan McDaniel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved
grandson, Matthew Stanley Bostic.

Those left to cherish his memory include his most beloved wife, Ellen
Cook McDaniel; his children, Laura McDaniel Bostic Taylor of Charleston, SC,
James Stanley McDaniel of Charlotte, NC and Paul Jernigan McDaniel of Spindale,
NC; his grandchildren, JC and Hunter McDaniel of Charlotte, NC and Kaylee
McDaniel of Spindale, NC; great grandchildren, Matilyne and Annahlee Bostic of
Forest City, NC; brother, Reggie McDaniel and wife Shirley of Ellenboro, NC; sisters,
Delores Hardin and husband Glen of Ellenboro, NC, Nancy Jackson and husband
Franklin of Bostic, NC, Teresa Ledbetter and husband Roger of Cliffside, NC, Cora
Willis and husband Dennis of Ellenboro, NC and JoAnne Goforth of Charleston, SC;
sister-in-law Barbara Williams and husband Billy of McConnells, SC; brother-in-law,
Rodger Cook of Rock Hill, SC; many beloved nieces and nephews.

After marrying his high school sweetheart on July 24th, 1965, Stan and Ellen lived
full and productive lives, celebrating their 52nd wedding anniversary this year. Stan's
childhood fascination with airplanes led him to become an adventurous pilot. In the
1970's and 80's, Stan performed aerobatics at air shows and over the fields of
Rutherford County, often flying out of the grass air strip at Mt. Lebanon. He was also
the first pilot to land at the Rutherford County Airport before the runway was paved.

Stan was an entrepreneur, visionary and inventor. His many endeavors included;
owner of SPM Hydraulics, founder and owner of Fast Break Oil in Spindale for many
years, founder of Regal Pet Ramps. Among his many inventions was the Robo Lift for
which he holds a US patent. Many of his inventions are still being used in the injection
molding industry today. Among his many attributes was the ability to teach and mentor,
which included teaching Hydraulics and Pneumatics at Isothermal Community College
during the 1980's and 90's.

After retiring from his business endeavors, he occupied his time with truck driving and
especially enjoyed the travel involved. Most of all, he was a loving father who went the
extra mile to help his children, grandchildren, family and friends. He will be greatly
missed.

Services will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Spencer Baptist Church in Spindale.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the 2:00 PM Celebration of
Life service. Reverend Bruce Caldwell and Reverend Kelly Settlemyre will officiate.
