Obituary for Thomas Michael Gorman

Thomas Michael Gorman passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017 at home in Lake Lure, North Carolina. Tom worked as a skilled Mason – Tom Gorman Hardscape Design and Construction creating many beautiful works throughout New Jersey, Rhode Island and North Carolina. With his special smile and twinkle in his eyes he humbly served those around him. He had a love of sports, coaching, and working with his hands. Tom was a gifted mentor and true friend to many. He was an Ambassador for the Flowering Bridge in Lake Lure.
“Tom was such a sweet and generous soul who moved among us with his gentle nature and welcoming smile. The path across the Flowering Bridge will certainly be his lasting memorial as he paved the way for others to walk through Somewhere Beautiful.”

Tom is survived by his Dad, Thomas F. Gorman and Stepmom Lucy, Aunt Midge O’Grady, Aunt Dottie and Uncle Charlie Deno, Sister Jean Kivlin and husband Joe, Sister Maureen Grillo and husband John, Sister Kelly Gerstl and husband Gary, Barbara, his son Aaron and wife Hazel Garrish, Nephews: TJ, Michael, Brendan, Joseph, Will, Conor and Kyle, Grand Nephew Tower; Grandchildren Evan, Dylan and Blake. Tom was predeceased by his Mom Mary, Uncle Joe and Sister Patricia. Tom’s family extends gratitude to those who loved him and the care Dr. Sarah Blocher – Steiner provided to Tom.

Celebrations of Tom’s life will be held at the Flowering Bridge, Lake Lure Saturday, November 25th 1:00 PM with reception following and Café Graziella in Hillsborough, New Jersey on December 16th at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in Tom’s name to The Flowering Bridge LakeLureFloweringBridge.org, Blue Ridge Health Community Health Center, Info @BRCHS.com or the American Diabetes Association will continue to honor Tom.
