Charles James  Gervason
Charles James Gervason, 94, of Forest City, died Thursday, October 5, 2017 at his home. A native of Canton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Louis and Emma Harwood Gervason. He was a WWI veteran who served in the USAAF Air Corp.

He was a retired Aerospace Engineer for the Kennedy Space Center. He taught at Chase High School and East Rutherford High School as part of the Mechanical Drafting and Design curriculum offered through Isothermal Community College Vocational and Technical Division and a member of First United Methodist Church, Rutherfordton.

He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Aiello and husband Tracy of Rochester, NY, Patricia Gervason of Durham, and Jahanna Tafari of Palo Alto, CA; grandchildren, Melanie Wheeler of Rochester, NY, Jahvita Rastafari of Palo Alto, CA, and Chaz Aiello of Rochester, NY; great grandchild Kymani Washington of Palo Alto, CA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Isabel Flores Gervason.

The family will receive visitors Saturday October 14th at 2:00PM in the Family Life Center of First United Methodist Church, 264 North Main Street, Rutherfordton, NC. Interment will follow in the memorial garden.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043 or First United Methodist Church, 264 North Main Street, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
