The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Rilla Edwards can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Rilla Caye Edwards (Lequire)

Rilla Caye Edwards (Lequire)
Rilla Lequire Edwards, 86, of Union Mills, went to be with the Lord, Friday, September 1, 2017 while being cared for by Hospice of Rutherford County. A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late Johnny and Lelia Crisp Lequire. Rilla retired from Rutherfordton Elementary School as a librarian.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 66 years, TJ Edwards of the home; son Jay Edwards; daughters, Joy Hunsucker, Lynne Flack and Pam Edwards; five grandchildren and ten greatgrandchildren; and sisters Maxine Summers and Beryl McElrath.

Funeral services will be 2PM Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Round Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Jones officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
