Condolence From: David Bruce Murray
Condolence: I first met Mrs. Parton in the early 1970s when I attended kindergarten with her daughter, Melissa.

I had an opportunity to play music at the rest home a few weeks ago with the Foothills Choir. After we finished singing, I spoke to Kathryn, and she asked me to wait while she went back to her room and returned with her photo album. I spent a good 30 minutes looking at pictures there in the hall. She was so proud of her children.

She was a wonderful person.

Condolence: Kathryn was always active at Spencer. I will remember her giving us bubble gum after choir practice and many other things. She was one of several moms that kept an eye on the youth group. She always had a smile on her face! Prayers and condolences to her family.

Condolence: So sad to see this generation leaving us. Although I never knew them well, Kathryn and Uzella were beloved cousins of my mother, and always kind whenever I saw them. They were great-uncle Jimmy Melton's children. My mother, Ina Lee Gurley White, was a daughter of his sister, Mamie Melton Gurley. A heavenly reunion taking place now with this loving family!

Condolence: Kathryn was a special person. She was a cherished member of the village that help raise me and countless other Spencer youth. She was one of the most genuine people that I have met and one of the most fun-loving. My thoughts and prayers to the Parton family.
