Condolences

Condolence From: Gregory Petty
Condolence: Family, I am truly saddened by your loss of Francis, he was a fine man. I met him about two years ago while visiting White Oak Manor as my wife and I both have Aunts' there. I've been blessed by knowing and talking with him.He was born the same year as my mother and was one year younger than my dad, who was also a World War 2 veteran. My dad served in the European theater of the war while Francis served in the Pacific theater. He laughed when telling me about his mother and sister, after apparently viewing some news reels, on how hard the men had it in the Philippines, they kept sending him food, thinking that he was starving. On my visits to White Oak Manor, I share with the residents videos of the Grand-Ole Opry from the 1950's and Francis always enjoyed them as it brought back many memories to him. The world is a better place because of men like Francis and I am I better man for knowing him. I will dedicate the next showing of a video at the Manor in his honor. May God's love be upon all of you dear family as you say goodbye to your father, the highest calling known to men.
