Charles William Hammill, 82, of Rutherfordton, died Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Hospice House. A native of Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Helen Torpy Hammill. He was a US Army veteran and a retired electrical wireman.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Margie John Hammill of the home; daughter Susan Jacobs and husband Jeffrey of Chicago, IL; grandsons Ethan Jacobs and Colin Jacobs of Chicago, IL; stepsons David John and Brian John; and cousin Annette Stover.
