Obituary for John Richard Wisniewski

John Richard  Wisniewski
John Wisniewski was born July 26, 1936 in Evanston, IL. He was the middle son of his mother, Martha. He attended Bethlehem Lutheran School and Evanston Township High School. He worked for Contracting and Material Corp. in Evanston for over ten years.
John married Jenny Griffith in July, 1960. Together they have four children: Lt. Col. ret. Clayton and Betsy Wisniewski of Goldsboro, NC; Mark and Karen Wisniewski of Austin; TX, Lee and Jeff Spodnik of Nashville; TN, and Elise and Jerry Buller of Lebanon, TN. John is survived by his wife, Jenny, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The family moved to Clearwater, FL in 1971. John opened Sun Coast Supply Co. along with two partners. After selling the business to Florida Food Service John went to work for that company. From 1992-1997 John worked for Thomas and Howard food group in the Charlotte, NC market. He retired to Clearwater in 1997 for a few years. In 2003 he embraced Lake Lure NC as his forever home. This warm loving community embraced him back. He enjoyed volunteering to serve on several committees and boards in the Rumbling Bald Community and Town of Lake Lure.

John was always interested in sports and was the intramural horse shoe champion in high school. He had great success as a bowler and golfer. Over the years he achieved many awards, especially in golf, setting a new course record, several holes in one, trophies for Club Champion, and several tournament championships over the years.

John was a member of Fairfield Mountains Chapel where his ashes will be interred. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service for John will be held Friday, June 30th at 11:00am at Fairfield Mountains Chapel with a reception for the family to follow.

Flat Rock, NC or Memory Care in Asheville, NC.
