The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Dessie Hopper can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: To Dessie's family, Steve and I send our love and prayers.
We were some of those that called her "Granny" and loved her dearly. We are so grateful for the years we shared with her at Mastercraft. She was truly part of our family and we will miss her greatly. Heaven is a brighter place because she lives there now.

Condolence: To Dessie's Children, grandchildren and Great Grandchildren,
I was sorry to hear of my Cousin Dessie's death today. (Sunday 3/26/17) I extend my sympathy to all of you who were blessed to be related to her. She was a very special person to my family when I grew up in the Sulpher Springs Community as a child and young adult. this was from 1938 until 1950. It has been more than 40 years since I last saw Dessie at my Mom's house there at Sulpher Springs. She was a beautiful young woman and she was fun to be around. My parents loved her. My parents were Mint and Millie Mathis. Dessie was my Dad's 1st Cousin. She worked hard, loved her family and was beloved in the Hodge/Mathis part of the family. I think Dessie was the last person left in the Hodge decedent's of her mother Cances family. Her Mom was Cances, Dads Mom was Tissue, there wa Mary and Horace Hodge. I extend to you my admiration of Dessie and my families love of her.
