Margaret Mary Washington was born on January 21, 1941 and entered into eternal rest on November 12, 2016.
Margaret was a native of Rutherford County and the youngest daughter of the late Willie and Loretta Wilkerson, a graduate of Carver High School and worked as a burling and mender at JC Cowan until 1999 when she retired.
She was a loving and compassionate person who loved her family and all people. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joe Frank Washington; brothers James, Hobert, John Lee, Ray, RC, Cecil and Leroy Wilkerson; sisters Ola Mae Ross, Nina McEntyre and Mary Lou Mills.
Margaret leaves to cherish her fondest memories a son Jeffrey Vincent Washington (Sonya Jean Washington); grandchildren Brianne, Bianca & Irvin Washington; great grandchildren; Adalius and Malaysia; brother Willie Worth Wilkerson of Detroit, Mi. along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at 11 AM Wednesday at Crowe’s Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Leroy Staley, Rev. Travis McEntire and Rev. Phil Forney officiating. Burial will be in Eternal Hills Memorial Park (Sunset Cemetery). Mrs. Washington will lie in state from 10 -11 AM prior to the service.
