Mrs. Janet Frances Wray Toney passed away Thursday October 27, 2016 at Hospice House in Forest City, NC. Janet was born in Rutherford County, NC and was preceded in death by her parents Charles Miller Wray and Jennie Atchley Wray. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Rutherfordton, NC and was a retired supervisor with the Employment Security Administration. She is survived by her husband Dennis Toney, one sister Dot Overcash, brother-in-law Ben Toney and wife Ann; sister-in-law Vivian Champion and husband John; nephew Thad Overcash and wife Meloney; nephew Kevin Daves and companion Ashley Stein. A celebration of life will be held 2 P.M. Sunday October 30, 2016 at First United Methodist Church 264 North Main Street, Rutherfordton, NC 28139 with Dr. Sydnor Thompson, III officiating. The family will receive friends in the family life center following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Rutherford County Hospice P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043 or to First United Methodist Church Organ Fund 264 North Main Street, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
