Dixie Jane  Lattimore (Hooks)
Mrs. Dixie Lattimore, 91, was called home to be with her heavenly Father on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at her daughter’s home.

She was born on October 16, 1924 in Rutherford County, NC. She was the daughter of Rastus and Ola Hooks. After their passing she was raised by her grandmother, Eliza Carpenter. In addition to her parents and grandmother, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Spencer Hooks and Fairy Hooks Caldwell, husband, Eugene Lattimore of forty plus years along with her four sons, Rastus Lattimore, Alonzo Lattimore, Calvin Lattimore and Thomas Lattimore, and one daughter Mae Ola Lattimore.

She is survived by one daughter, Alder Conley and husband Melvin of Morganton; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Dixie attended and graduated New Hope High School in Union Mills, NC. She later became a domestic worker for 25 years then furthered her work at Drexel Furniture Company for 10 years. She was a life long member of Piney Ridge CME Church in which she was a stewardess. She enjoyed a full life serving her church and tending to others.

Funeral services will be held 1PM Monday, October 10, 2016 at Piney Ridge CME Church 4421 Hudlow Rd Union Mills NC 28167. Burial will follow in New Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
God saw the road was getting rough and a cure was not to be. So he whispered softly, “My precious one, Come Unto Me!” We give our love and sweet rest to thee. May the Peace of God Be Thine!
