James Leonard  Bailey
James Leonard Bailey age 86 of Big Level Road went to be with The Lord on Friday August 19, 2016 while being cared for at Asheville Mission Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
James was a charter member and deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Polk County and was a retired employee of the Rutherford County Court House.
He was a loving husband for 61 years to his wife Winnell Metcalf Bailey and a loving father to his daughter Nancy Bailey. He is also survived by a special great nephew Lukas Hudson, two brothers- Alvin Bailey and Isadore Bailey as well as two sisters Marthell Moore and Sue McCoyle.
James was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Effie Bailey, three brothers Lonnie, Lloyd and Leland and two sisters Donnie Mae and Dorothy Lee.
The family will receive friends from 4 PM until 6 PM Sunday August 21, 2016 at Crowe’s Mortuary. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday August 22, 2016 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Polk County with Rev. Warren Elliott and Dr. Tim Metcalf officiating . Burial will be in the church cemetery.
