Obituary for Mary Helen Arrowood (Ward)
Helen Ward Arrowood, 84, of Rutherfordton, died Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Oakland Living Center. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Gertrude Sisk Ward. Helen was a member of Second Baptist Church and a retired sales associate.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Dennis Arrowood and wife Sandra of Rutherfordton; daughter in law Cindy Arrowood of Spindale; grandchildren, Ashley Anthony of Charlotte, Jennifer Crosby and husband Jason of Oklahoma City, OK, Brian Thompson and wife Heather of Rutherfordton; great grandchildren, Madelyn Anthony of Charlotte, Caitlyn and Landon Crosby of Oklahoma City, OK, Bryson and Allie Thompson of Rutherfordton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Junior Arrowood and a son, Donnie Arrowood.
Funeral services will be held 11AM Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Crowe’s Mortuary with Dr. Keith Stephenson and Jason Crosby officiating. Interment will be in Rutherfordton City Cemetery. Following the service, the family will be at the home of Dennis Arrowood.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 193 Callahan Koone Road, Spindale, NC 28160 or Second Baptist Church Youth Fund, 191 Green Street, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
