Katie Lee Fox Keever, age 93, of Rutherfordton, NC, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on May 9th 2016.

She was born on October 9th 1922 in Asheville, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd E. Fox, Sr. and Lydia Staton Fox, her husband of 49 years, Harold G. Keever and her brothers, Charles Fox, Staton Fox, Graham Fox and Lloyd Fox Jr.

She is survived by her son Odean Keever and his wife Barbara Keever of Union Mills, NC; a grandson Brad Keever; granddaughter Andrea Keever; brother, Clay Fox and his wife Elizabeth of Garner, NC; sister Nell Victoria (Vikki) Fox; sister-in-law Helen Fox of Asheville, NC; sister-in-law Berlene Henderson and husband Harold (Bud) of Mooresville, NC; sister-in-law Wilma Smith and husband Jim of Kinghtdale, NC; step grandson Derek Yelton of Boiling Springs, NC; step grandson Adam Yelton of Ellenboro, NC; six step great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews whom she loved all very much.

Katie lee and her husband Harold moved to the Gilkey area in 1972, where they raised cattle and Katie opened a boot and tack shop that she owned and operated for more than 25 years, known as Katie’s Boot and Tack.
She was an active member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church for over 40 years where she served on numerous committees and missions. She truly loved the Lord and showed it in her day to day life. She always had a smile and a kind word for others.

Receiving of friends will be at Mountain Creek Baptist Church on Thursday, May 12th 2016 from 1-2PM and the service will follow at 2:00PM. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
