Obituary for Hubert Oscar "Junior" Johnson Jr.
Rutherfordton, NC
Mr. Hubert Oscar Johnson, Jr. “Junior” age 71 of Arnett Street went home to be with The Lord on Sunday December 6, 2015 while at Hospice House in Forest City, NC.
A native of Rutherford County he is the son of the late Hubert Oscar Johnson, Sr. and the late Clara Mills Johnson. He was also preceded in death by a sister Betty Yelton and his wife Louise Anderson Johnson.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Renee Lowery (Chad), Peyton Beheler (Eric), and Sophia Greene; grandchildren Blake Greene, Jacob Johnson, Raygan Beheler; sisters – Jean Thompson, Shirley Scruggs, Cecile Price, Mary Toms, Retha Goforth and Wanda Butler; one brother in law Steve Butler whom he loved as a brother as well as a number of other family and friends.He is also survived by his step children Lisa Mott, Jennifer Greene, Michael Mott and step grandchildren Anthony Mott and Michael Mott.
Junior was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was a man who loved God dearly. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday December 9, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Philbeck and Rev. Owen Duncan officiating. Concluding services will be held at Glenwood Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jason Toney and Rev. Ricky Poteat officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM Tuesday December 8, 2015 at Crowe’s Mortuary in Rutherfordton, NC. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rutherford County Hospice P.O. Box 336 Forest City NC 28043. Online condolences may be made at www.crowemortuary.com.
