Fred Albert  Sams
Dr. Fred Sams age 66, of Lake Lure, NC passed away on November the 19th at his home. Dr. Sams was the son of Barbara Rouse Sams, and the late Burell Henry Sams. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Gayle Sams, and daughter Barbara Lynn Sams. Dr. Sams was a member of the F.B.I. and worked with many different police and sheriff departments, serving as the Director of Forensics and crime labs for two agencies. Dr. Sams graduated law school in 1983, and later became a member of the Law Offices of the famous attorney Melvin M. Belli. During his career he participated in the forensic aspect of cases that are featured in many books, such as “The Greatest Crimes of the Twentieth Century” and movies such as 20th Century Fox’s “Buried Alive.” Dr. Sams also served in the U.S. Army Special Forces during the Vietnam War.
