Obituary for John Thomas Elliott

John Thomas Elliott
John Thomas “JT” Elliott, 65, of Rutherfordton, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Dee Olen and Flora Wilson Elliott. JT was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and a logger.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Joyce Hensley Elliott of the home, sons J.D. and Sharon and Josh and Amanda, all of Rutherfordton; brother Bill and Rachel Elliott of Rutherfordton; sister June Elliott of Rutherfordton; and brother in law Johnny and Tanya Hensley of Rockledge, FL.

Funeral services will be held 11AM Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. William Swink and Ed Foshie officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the fellowship center of the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 563 Pleasant Hill Church Road, Rutherfordton, NC 28139 or Gideon’s International.
