Obituary for Maxine Jolley (Hudlow)

Maxine Hudlow Jolley, age 75, of Rutherfordton, passed away peacefully at 4:15 AM on Saturday April 4, 2015 at Hospice House in Forest City with her husband and daughter by her side. Maxine had fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was a native of Rutherford County and a graduate of Gardner Webb University, was a retired lab tech in the textile industry and was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Lillie Mae Smith Hudlow, sisters Lorene Lovelace, Arzie Cook, Lucy Hudlow, Elanor Hudlow and brother Roy Hoyle Hudlow.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 57 years, Don Jolley; daughter Tamara Oxendine of Lake Lure, son Donnie Jolley of the home; grandchildren, Ariel Oxendine of Lake Lure, Josh Oxendine of Austin, Tx and Melody Oxendine of Lake Lure; a sister Brenda Dalton and husband Troy of Forest City; two brothers, Hayden Hudlow and wife Ethel of Forest City and Andy Hudlow of Orangeburg, SC along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Monday April 6, 2015 at Smith Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry White officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM prior to the service.
