Jane Anne  Hawkins

Jane Anne Hawkins, age 85, of the Green Hill Community, died February 19th 2015 at Oak Grove Healthcare Center of Rutherfordton.

Born June 13, 1929 in Rutherford County, NC, she was the daughter of the late R.Z.L Hawkins and Olive Estelle Crabtree Hawkins. Jane Anne attended RS Central High School, and was a retired supervisor from Tanner Companies, INC. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where she was the Sunday School Teacher of 49’ers class and served on several church committees.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. Rebecca Ruth Camp (Herman), Halys Guy Hawkins (Ruby), Olive Estelle Hawkins, Bertie Jo Amos (Bobby), Nancy Idaree Morgan (Hobert), Rommie Linnie Hawkins, and one nephew Andy Morgan and nephew in law Bobby Culbreth. In retirement Jane enjoyed life by traveling, reading, working numerous jig saw puzzles, visiting the shut-ins, making many jars of jams and jellies and canning vegetables.

Surviving are nine nephews and nieces. Wayne Camp (Sara), Sammy Camp (Jo Ann), June Culbreth, Danita Morgan (Chris White), Glenda Vickers (Mike), Glenn Amos (Nicole), Lynn Pope (Greg), Lee Hawkins (Robin), Eric Hawkins (Heather), also survived by one sister-in-law Jean Hawkins and several great-nephews and great-nieces and special friends.

Funeral services will be held Sunday February 22nd 2015, at 3:00PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Darley and Rev. Warren Elliott officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends following the service in the church sanctuary.
