Leona Crawford Wilson, 89, of Lake Lure, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 22, 2015 while being cared for at Hospice House. Born in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Dillard and Hattie Elliott Crawford. Leona was a member of Bills Creek Baptist Church, the VFW Auxiliary, and a former employee of the Vanderbilt Shirt Company.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Gary Wilson of Lake Lure; three granddaughters, Michelle Wilson, Carla English and Christy St. Pierre and husband Joseph; two great grandsons Kelley English and Matthew English; brother Jay Crawford of Hickory and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Wilson, son Bobby Wilson, brothers Fred Crawford and Ransom Crawford and sisters Ethel Dalton, Ensley Byers and Mary Byers.

Funeral services will be conducted 3PM Monday, January 26, 2015 at Bills Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Terrell Dillingham and Rev. Leroy Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3PM in the church sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bills Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1475 Bills Creek Road, Lake Lure, NC 28746.
