Martha Edwards Harbison (Yelton)
Martha Edwards Yelton Harbison, age 94, of Carolina House Forest City, formerly of Spindale passed away Wednesday at Hospice House. Martha was a native of Rutherford County, a graduate of Brevard College and UNCG and was formerly employed as a bookkeeper for Stonecutter and Spindale Mills as well as Isothermal Community College and a faithful member of Spindale United Methodist Church .
She was preceded in death by her parents Spurgeon K. Yelton and Alda Edwards Yelton as well her husband James Avery Harbison Jr. and son James Harbison III.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Jane Tucker and husband Jimmy of Marshville, NC and nephews Sam Metcalf of Rutherefordton and Bill Metcalf of Spindale.
Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Friday at Spindale United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jane Mullinax and Rev. Ross O’Neal officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
