In loving memory of Doris Lillian Aldrich.
Doris was born and raised in Vermont, and had made her home in Ellenboro, NC for the past ten years. She loved traveling to visit with family and friends. Doris claimed she was a nomad in her retirement years saying home is where your heart takes you, whether it was Maine to see grandchildren or Florida to see friends.
Doris loved trying new crafts, like quilting and she dabbled in painting. She adored dogs and cats and took in strays. Doris’s home was opened to all who needed a place to call home for a while.
She was born Oct. 7, 1937 to John Arthur Corey of Brandon, VT, and Elisabeth (Mohan) Alger of Plymouth, VT. Doris married the late Clarence B. Aldrich of Londonberry, VT and they had five children.
Surviving family includes: Son, James Arthur Aldrich and wife Vickie of Manchester, VT, Daughters; Carol Ann Aldrich of Ellenboro, NC, Rose Marie Praino and husband Robert of Ellenboro, NC, Mary Lou Cole of Ellenboro, NC, grandchildren: Vera’s children; Leif Parker Bancroft, Lee James Bancroft and Misty Jean Bancroft, Carol’s sons; Jody Burton Aldrich and Eric Lee Hale, Rose’s son Christopher N. Matteson, Mary’s daughter, Rosalee Ann Dunn, James’s daughters; Sarah Aldrich, Tracy Aldrich, and Kristy Aldrich, Great-grandchildren: Tyler, Makaila, Hunter, Desirae, Alex Hale, Cole, Piper, Willow, Cohan, Dominic, Josephine, Alex and Jessica, Sisters: Joan Ann Atwood of Brandon VT, Helen Jean Hale of So. Londonberry VT, Patricia Guilemette of VT, Brother Larry Garrow of VT, Cousin and lifelong friend Marion Campeau and Special lifelong friends Barb and Bill Gordon of Londonberry, VT and Della Crossman of NC.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her Daughter Vera Lee Bancroft, Grandchild Mira Bancroft, Sisters: Marjorie Patterson and husband Earl, Ruth Deso, Betty Lou Osmar and husband Ernest, nephew Randall Atwood and niece Samantha Merit.
Doris will be missed and loved forever.
May the Grace of God guide her to her next journey.
