He was a steadfast member of the Baha’i Faith, serving the Baha’i community on local, regional, and national institutions. He also served for 5 years as the Coordinator/Manager of the Works Office at the Baha’i World Centre in Haifa, Israel.

Dale worked as a Senior Engineer with Westinghouse Idaho Nuclear Company. He was an avid outdoorsman. He was a lifelong accomplished athlete. He shared his love for the outdoors and sports with everyone he met and his enthusiasm was captivating. He naturally reached out to people of all abilities and strived to inspire them.

After retiring to Forest City, NC, Dale discovered disc golf. He quickly became an ambassador for the sport. He was a member of the Professional Disc Golf Association, an authorized Innova Disc Golf Representative, and owner of Red Dirt Discs of North Carolina. He was a Marketing Consultant for the non-profit corporation EDGE (Educational Disc Golf Experience, Inc.) and conducted instructional clinics for vast numbers of students and teachers.

A private graveside service was held by the family on Sunday, April 6, 2014 and a Memorial Celebration gathering has been planned for family and friends at South Mountain Christian Camp on Saturday, April 12, at 10am. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your favorite charity in Dale’s name.
