Obituary for James Edward Yelton

James Edward  Yelton
In loving memory of James Edward “Eddie” Yelton age 64 who went to be with the Lord on Saturday April 13, 2013. James was a member of Dysartsville Baptist Church and attended Cane Creek Baptist Church. He was a member of the Forest City Masonic Lodge and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. As a self-employed businessman James’ career included truck driving as well as operating Colonial Manor Health Care. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Brenda Dellinger Yelton of the home, one son John Wesley Yelton and his wife Jenny of Rutherfordton, father Howard Yelton of Forest City, one brother Donald Yelton of Forest City, two sisters Linda Guffey of Forest City, and Lucille Mock of Colorado, three grandchildren Sarah Yelton, Meagan Yelton and Wyatt Yelton, special nephews Jamie Yelton and Aaron Yelton. A number of other nieces, nephews and other family members also survive. James was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Jones Gross and one sister Louise Parks. A celebration of life will be held 3 PM Thursday April 18, 2013 at Cane Creek Baptist Church 151 Cane Creek Road Union Mills, NC 28167 with Rev. Danny Camp and Rev. Don Harris officiating with Masonic Rites provided by the local Masonic Lodge. Concluding services will be held at Brittain Presbyterian Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Crowe’s Mortuary Rutherfordton, NC. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Hudlow Fire Department.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the many members of the fire departments, police departments and rescue crews that came to their aid and to the many people of the community that offered their help.
